I just wanna be... I Just Wanna Be SUCCESSFUL!
Well... Where do i begin?... I do realize that most of my "recent" posts have major gaps and delays between them, but i can assure you that there are definitely valid reasons.
I've been keeping busy as of late. I'm in hot pursuit of the limelight and the flashing lights! lol well... at least a stable music career. I took it upon myself to get up off of my lazy ass over the last couple of months, make the necessary connections, and get back to my aspirations as a songwriter.... I EVEN DECIDED TO GIVE MY SHYNESS ITS WALKING PAPERS AND PURSUE ARTISTRY! Go Me! Taking all of the mandatory steps hasn't been easy at all but i'm definitely doing whatever it takes to make quality music, be heard, and revive the R&B genre from destruction :). I'm in and out of a couple of studios on a daily basis, to ensure that the vision I have for my music is fully portrayed (which is also why some of these tracks are taking so long). I've come to realize, through the recording process, that I am more of a perfectionist than i initially anticipated, which is both a blessing and a curse. I'm just happy to be back to what i truly love to do, and what i was put on this planet to do: Entertain & Inspire. Since, i've been doing some recent networking, I've been notified that there is more of a need for R&B artists/songwriters too (since everybody WANTS to be a rapper now). I've been approached by a few local (and fairly known) independent artists to do hooks, and even write entire songs. Since I recently aquired my BMI writer's licensing, that won't be a problem (had to make sure i was copywriting my ish!)
So, keep me in your prayers, as i attempt to knock down a few doors, and make my way into the industry.... and i promise, i'll attempt to keep you more updated on whats going on in my life. Sometimes, its just a lil difficult to blog and write after being burned out from writing songs. Peace! (gotta go make some hits)

WE CHILLIN'!!!
ITS SUMMER TIME BABY!
It's about time to let the battle of the hottest summer jam ensue! I am on the quest to find these said "jams" and deliver them to you in a timely manner!
Now, that being said, I came up on this little gem, watching MTV Jams, while relaxing & trying not to die of an asthma attack from my morning workout. That is none of your concern... anyways... Check this one out! It comes from an up-and-coming DC native, and a well known skank-a-licious pop star on the rise. I guarantee it'll be embedded in your brain for at least a month's time!
Wale ft. Lady Gaga - Chillin (Prod. by Cool & Dre)

Welcome To Atlanta, where the playas play!
So... As I further my quest in world domination, and my pursuit in extreme happiness, I have been pondering my next career move. Thinking not only in hypothetical senses, I am continuing to seek out every possible avenue to get me to my next step. Not to take it to the biblical aspect, BUT.... I desire to not only fulfill my potential to the fullest extent, but also to find my God given purpose in this world, as I'm sure we all should be doing. That being said.... I am in dire need of relocation, and a total shift in my focuses.

Its OUR anniversary!
Who here was a fan of " The Cosby Show"????
Not to be confused with the terrible spin off "Cosby", which in my mind TANKED, with its plethora of "up and coming" and rapper/actors. The Cosby Show became the american example of the way black households were perceived, but in a positive manner. Everyone is intimately familiar with its eclectic cast, and can relate in some way to the issues that the show tackled. I was elated (even though i missed it) to hear that the cast of the show would be celebrating their 25th anniversary on The Today Show! Watch here, with glee as I did, as the cast shares memorable moments with Matt.
As a complete side note (as Cakes observed and shared with me), take particular note of how when "Claire" speaks, the set gets especially quiet to listen to her words of wisdom! BLACK MAMA SPEAKS! lol
